[quote:657578915c="CurryMutton"]Oh, how can I forget:
Michael Gielen (1927 - ) An Austrian conductor
specialises in conducting complex and demanding pieces from Second Viennese School (e.g. Schoenberg and Berg) and not to mention, Mahler. His work on Marhler usually played by SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg. All are distributed by Hanssler Classic, which is quite pricey but not too difficult to find. As far as I know, there is still no complete cycle yet.
Sir John Barbirolli has a lot of "live" Mahler sessions for BBC boardcast and are available on CD. They are also not hard to find but quite pricey. But I have none of them but some say Mahler 4 is among the best and definitely worths the price.
Jascha Horenstein (1898 - 1973), Klaus Tennstedt (1926 -1998) and George Szel (1897 - 1970) are also recommended but I have not yet read their interpretations of Mahler.
Thanks for viewing. More later.[/quote]

終於有人講Horenstein的Mahler!
